Should I talk to my therapist about my porn addiction? It’s a woman as my therapist and I have been really afraid to express to her that I have a really bad problem with porn that’s why I downloaded this app

100000% tell her. I promise you (unless she’s very new) she’s heard 100x worse confessions, and she’s likely going to be very helpful.

I think it’s actually good to have a woman therapist. You should see what the effects of a porn addicted man are in the eyes of a woman. A guy therapist will understand you too, but a woman therapist could make it even more shocking and force you to break free of the addiction because you realize how disgusting this habit is to women

I get it feels funny expressing it to a woman therapist but also understand that her job is to help and not judge or shame you

I would say yes. If sex therapy and addiction are by chance it’s not part of her practice, she could still at least refer you to another therapist to work through those issues, which is a win. For me, I already knew when getting my therapist that this was something I wanted to talk about and work on, so I chose my therapist based on this being part of her service. She has helped me on several fronts.
