i'm imagining a lot of us know how it feels to have been in sexual experiences and not been able to get it up. shit sucks. been doing a lot of research today about rebooting, how long it takes, how your personal history with PMO ties into it, flatlining?? which i didn't even know was a thing (a phase that can occur in people trying to reboot their brain from a pmo addiction where you are totally unable to get it up, alone or not. it's like your arousal system is resetting. it can occur a few times throughout recovery but it's usually followed by increased morning wood) and now after learning more about what the process actually looks like; realising that while i've been trying to recover for months, doing things like; edging and fapping without porn to "test my erections" is a terrible idea, fantasising and thinking about sexual experiences for ages all the time, all of it stimulates the same pathways that keep you under PIED. i feel more hopeful towards finally recovering than i ever have. after trying to beat this pied for over a year now, this app and this research have put me in the best stead to do so. break it up into smaller goals. don't think about trying to abstain for the whole three months, just focus on getting through the week ahead. then the next. like moving from lamppost to lamppost to get somewhere. you can do it! trust the process
