Our Relationship with Dopamine

I am part of a men’s group ran by this multi-millionaire guy and one of the things we talked about in our last meeting was Dopamine. He explained the different types of dopamine releases and how they affect our perception and satisfaction. Pure/Healthy dopamine requires some kind of pain to feel, there’s an exchange. You make money and get dopamine, but you worked for it so your brain naturally understands “okay we feel this way bc we did xyz”. You get dopamine from the gym/exercise but you’re working hard for it so it’s a healthy exchange in your brain. Sex too. To meet a quality girl, court or seduce or charm her, and get to the point of sex requires effort, you need some skills to get there so that is the natural “pain” and your body and brain understand it. With cheap dopamine like pornography, drugs, etc. There isn’t enough give on your end, enough effort or pain to receive the dopamine you get, it’s like you’re getting away with it, it’s a one sided exchange. So it disrupts your brains connection to the concept bc it’s saying “wait we feel this good and it was easy?” So it’ll seek it out more. Why would it choose the path that requires pain when it could just receive the pleasure instantly? That’s what’s important about this road, this challenge. It’ll change your life in many different areas, not just intimacy. It’ll give you so much confidence to conquer it. You’ll walk and live much taller and brighter. Hope this helps.
