I’m trying to be religious too

So honestly the tough spot is you have to have some reason for it. Personally, I’m a Christian and based on my beliefs I know that it’s wrong. However, a non religious person really wouldn’t have a specific guideline as to what would be “morally right or wrong” because they may not have something other than specific governmental laws to differ right from wrong. You just gotta make sure you have your reason, and then stick to it. I’ve been a Christian all my life, but one day years ago I got too curious and it hooked me. Been hooked since then. I’ve always believed it was wrong but the desire to see it overrode what I felt was morally wrong, and I’d cave. I’ve decided that is now over, and it’s time to do better. There’s my reason, hope you’re able to find yours
