Tools for success
This is not an easy journey… it isn’t over night… BUT IT IS POSSIBLE! I’m fighting this battle now and will forever fight this battle of porn and masturbation. I have come across many things that have helped me in my journey along the way and I would love to share them. 1. You have to talk about it! This is probably the hardest one but it’s the first step to moving forward. 2. Find someone or even better find a group of guys who are all committed to fighting this battle together. Accountability is one of the best tools you have against this fight. 3. The Lord will set you free! - This won’t be what everyone wants to hear but it’s the biggest reason I’m able to get over this addiction and stay committed. If you aren’t a believer I’m not saying there is no hope but I personally would never have gotten through this without the guidance of the lord and digging into scripture. I urge you to at least look into it for yourself! 4. For my fellow believers this next one is the biggest tool I have ran across and is what started my process of fighting this battle. I read a book called “fight like a man” by Emeal Zwayne. Besides reading scripture this book was everything for me! I can’t tell you enough how much I recommend this book for everyone. 5. Delete social media - this was one of the biggest reasons I was never able to get over this addiction previously. I would stop watching porn for a while then I’d be scrolling through instagram and a naked woman would appear and I’d start backsliding and kickstarting my addiction again. I’m not saying this is a problem for everyone but I see it near impossible to stay committed when you are constantly being tempted by the internet. 6. Have a reason! you can’t win a battle if there is no reason to fight in the first place. I’m not perfect by any means. I fight urges and temptations everyday like the rest of you. Set a standard for yourself and stay committed. There’s hope! It’s possible! Keep fighting!
Much love brother, glory to God Almighty
