what I’ve done so far is I gave him a talk, told him not to be ashamed, explained that what he’s watching isn’t good for him and that kind of stuff is for married people. I told him i was going to tell mom, that he wasn’t in trouble, and that mom’s gonna have new rules for him to help him, not to punish him. I spoke with my mom, to ensure that she doesn’t make mistakes with him. I asked if I could be a part of this process as someone who’s experienced the same thing and she agreed. Is there anything else we could do to help him?

The worst thing you can do is shame him. He’s 8 and doesn’t know any better. Right now, he needs someone who can guide him down the right path. I’d say you take up this responsibility as his big brother and do just that. It’ll strengthen your bond together. In essence, have a conversation with him, be honest, ask him why and how he found this content, again don’t judge bc he might be embarrassed and lie to you, create trust, and all while educating him on why he shouldn’t be watching things like this. Who knows maybe you share your story with porn to him if you think he’s mature enough to understand it.

you just need to be honest with your parents so they can help and honest with your brother so you can really get through to him that it’s a terrible road to follow down

Tell him about the harms of porn bro. He’s so young it’ll be hard to explain it to him. I started at 11 which is fked up. But 8 is insane. This is probably way more common than we think.
