Shame

The shame I feel when I watch porn keeps me in a cycle. A cycle of I’m feeling bad I watch porn to make that feeling go away which releases dopamine to make me feel better. After in like a few minutes I feel shame and even worse and then I repeat the cycle. It sucks and it’s hard to quit it’s quite the drug. But I know that if I can do this I can be true to who I want to be. A person not controlled by passion and desire but who can sit with his feelings both negative and positive and just let them be.

When we're tempted to abuse God's grace, we need to remember that His grace is not a license to sin, but a means of empowerment to live a life of virtue and godliness. We also need to focus on the heart behind our actions, seeking to honor God rather than justifying our own sinful desires. When we've failed to live up to God's standards, it can be hard to forgive ourselves and move forward. We need to remember that God's forgiveness is not based on our performance, but on His grace and mercy. We need to acknowledge our sin, take responsibility for it, and receive God's forgiveness, letting go of guilt and shame. In terms of shame, we need to recognize that shame can be a barrier to true repentance and forgiveness. When we're stuck in shame, we can become mired in guilt and self-condemnation, rather than seeking God's forgiveness and restoration. We need to choose to forgive ourselves and others, letting go of bitterness and resentment, and seeking restoration and reconciliation.
