Day 11

Guys I said that during Lent I will not give up food, but technology such as my mobile phone, PC, television etc. Well, I need my mobile phone in everyday life (work, train ticket, paying), but I have reduced the activity to the most necessary and I'm at just under 2 hours of screen time per day. But since I've been fasting, I don't feel any urge for sin. Sure, here and there a little thought, but I can resist that, but I had no greater temptations. Stay strong guys, we will all stop with this disgusting sin!

I am Catholic but I find the traditional fasting of food not necessary for my life. I want to leave out the things that keep me away from God. Food doesn't really do that, I thank him for every food he gave me and if I have to eat alone (what sometimes happens) then I talk with God just as he would sit next to me.

I would say that getting off the phone doesn't disturb you from getting close to God. Of course you feel sometimes the urge to do it but I can resist it. Before Lent I felt the temptation and immediately I relapsed because I got distracted. Now I read the Bible in my free time, pray or go for a walk to be alone with God. If you do that you feel no big temptations because the presence of God is bigger than the distractions.

May I ask what denomination you are practicing lent with

So would you say getting off the phone makes the temptations go away?

Amen — May God make our paths easy ✨
