First post here on Quittr and thought half a month was as good as ever to say hey. I’ve been encouraged by all the chats and it’s helped me not only know I’m not alone but that others are over coming the struggle. Been a life long struggle for me and I got to a place where I truly hated how I felt after and the disappointment for days following outweighed any sort of temp pleasure. I’ve know my triggers but refused to give them up for so long. Mostly Instagram for me and I’d make excuses about why I just wouldn’t delete it. But honestly, getting rid of social media is one of the most freeing things. Just like quitting porn, you go through withdrawals as your brain is rewired but it’s been one of the biggest catalysts in finally breaking the porn addiction. By the grace of God I’ve stayed strong these 15 days and will continue to. And my encouragement to y’all is to stop letting things like social media hold you back from becoming who you’re meant to be. The distraction is not worth it. And the temptations it dangles in front of you is even more so not worth it. Don’t just try to quit your addiction. But fully commit to quitting and give up whatever else that is holding you back from being fully free. Thankful to be apart of this journey with y’all. Let’s get after it one day at a time!
