Battle Buddies: DAY 14!!!!!!

Wow! Just…..WOW! I didn't think I could get this far, but man, here I am, a full 2 weeks of sobriety! I never thought I could get this far. I've been addicted to porn for 10 years and Masturbation for 12 years. At first, when I kicked the habit of watching porn 2 years ago, I thought it would be smooth sailing from there….it wasn't, and I ended up flapping almost every day because of the memories of porn or love interest. I've learned many things since downloading this app a month ago. The first was that the root of my problem was that I couldn't control my imagination, which tended to work against me. I love art and am thinking about writing a book someday so that it would make sense. The second is that I needed God back in my life. I have always believed in God, but I had strayed away from going to church, reading the Bible, and failing to know Jesus when I was younger, and it wasn't until I found Christ again that my life felt more…..fulfilling. I honestly can't describe it. However, after cutting out toxic people in my life and replacing them with people from my church, it felt like a breath of fresh air. God has given me a path to follow, and I intend to follow it until the end. Everything happens for a reason, and I believe God brought this app to my attention in order to kick this habit, which ended up meeting my battle buddy. Brother in Christ Robert: Seeing your post every day is like wood fueling the flames. I don't know why you have chosen me to take this journey with you, but I am grateful you have reached out. Even when the temptations come to me in the mornings, I'm most vulnerable; I overcome them because of what you have started. The devil tempts us better when we are alone but is weakened when we are with someone. As I read your post, I got inspired to keep this fight going, face the temptations in my life, and say “no more.” “Thank you, Lord, for bringing me to this community and meeting my brother Robert. With the help of your grace, I pray that we continue this journey to overcome this addiction and that we may fulfill your plans for us.
