Relapsed after a stronger streak. Listened to the lies and the boredom before bed ( which was a strong habit for me). What do yall do to help the battle before bed. On the days I stay clean I can feel myself uneasy and staying up so late ( which I know will get better) but would appreciate insight. Keep fighting

I’ll be watching the posts for it, man. I’ve been a quitter long before I joined this app and I’ve gained a lot of insights through my Catholic catechesis. I’d love the opportunity to share these insights, as they help me even more than they help the people reading what I say.

I’m having a night like that right now, buddy. The Bible teaches to flee from temptation. I’m up playing games and enjoying a podcast, but the words of The Enemy are trying to creep into my enjoyment. Laugh at the demons and go to bed. Come on here, breathe a little, reflect on the reasons you want to do this— reflect on how crappy relapsing truly makes you feel and commit to not ever wanting to make yourself feel like that again. Comment on someone’s post and encourage them with the strategy you’re currently employing (hi, that’s me right now). Know that you’re not a failure— you just had a failure and, if you choose to love yourself in the way God still loves you, you will reflect on this experience and be more prepared to say no for this next streak. I know you can do this. We’re all struggling with the same temptation. Each “setback” creates a new stone on the path for us to step on and climb higher. You and I will eventually be free. Keep trying. It’s way easier than giving up and living in misery.
