Girlfriend doesn’t think I’m doing enough

As you all know beating this addiction(I don’t even like calling it that) is not an easy task, and I am being told by her that my efforts aren’t genuine. This is all in response to a relapse I had two days ago after hitting a week of being clean. I told her I am going to beat that and improve every time I relapse and I know eventually will be able to hit a month and so on. How do we measure success in this process? Is it being clean forever or is it being clean for longer periods of time?

You’re oversharing with your woman. Trust me the less she knows the better. It’s okay to have privacy and just tell her generic like you’re working on some goals for urself. It will hurt her feelings if you share with her stuff like this and tbh most women just want you to handle your business without involving them too much. Don’t complain to a woman and don’t show weakness.

I asked her what her version of success looked like “is it never watching again or is it getting to that 2-3 month point? I just want to get on the same page about this” she responded with “are you joking? You must be pranking me”

God is a huge part of this journey and process of improving. Finish purity to glorify God should be at the forefront of people’s desire to change 100%

Huge bro thank you. Been feeling more confident about resisting after those 5 days I got, it just feels like for her after a relapse it all resets, but she doesn’t see those 5 days as I do

Honestly do it for yourself and over time you will realize that you need her less and less. And if she wanna act up and try to control you you’ll have the guts to show her to the door because your testosterone levels will be through the roof.

There's a vera in the Bible that says the following: "Proverbs 26:11-Like a dog that returns to his vomit is a fool who repeats his folly." Now, a lot of people when reading this for the first time may say "Wow, i'm just a dog who eats his vomit everytime I relapse?" However, dogs don't vomit, leave it for a week or month, and then come back to eat it. This verse is referring to those who relapse over and over with no intention of improving or stopping. If you go a week, or a month, and it's a new streak of purity for you, relapsing doesn't throw all the progress you made away. You had never gone as long as you did before, and you have proved to yourself that you can resist the urge, you can control yourself, and you are dominated by your fleshly desires. Keep going strong, don't ever give up, become a better person. This is something you need to do for yourself, and no one else. Don't listen to anyone else's critique, they aren't struggling and trying to improve like you are. Follow God if you don't already, it will make this journey so much easier. God bless brother.
