You’re doing the right thing for the wrong reasons. Took the same decision for the same reason a year ago. My experience thought me that love isn’t something you can "keep" because it never belonged to anybody in the first place, sometimes it’s there, sometimes it’s not. It’s always free of your control, accept that and let go of the desire to possess it. Trust me a lot of this addiction stems from the refusal to accept that. Learn to love without seeking it…who knows ? maybe it’ll find you maybe it won’t, but at least you’ll be content, and you’ll learn to love yourself. Good luck on your journey brother
