Porn is a device and nothing more

It sounds obvious in writing, but I’m sure a lot of people on here don’t use porn just because it hits the dopamine centres. Like any other addiction, porn is easy to resort to in hard times, but with this app, let alone the mindset us users have owning this app, there’s something more at play. We aren’t trying to deal with porn we are trying to deal with our lives and in that perspective porn is nothing more than a device we use. It belittles the idea of porn that we all have something else going on and once we work to that porn has no power. I’ve been on this app only a couple of months but the community here has made me realise how different people use it to cope. Which is why I think this app isn’t about quitting porn but allowing us to face the realities of coping and detailing that porn shouldn’t be that mechanism to cope. We should aim to improve our lives and wellbeing first and with that porn addiction will eventually fade away. I’ve written a lot that many of you already know but it should be a reminder that people don’t quit porn, but they deal with the struggle that encourages it
