This morning I went to church for the first time since March. It was an amazing experience! I have been struggling with finding ways to cope with my urges and getting closer to Jesus always seems to help. Something my pastor talked about today was that you have to be COMFORTABLE with being UNCOMFORTABLE. When you stay away from porn for a long time it gets uncomfortable because your body is so used to getting that dopamine rush from the things you watch on the screen. To better yourself and free yourself from these chains you have to be uncomfortable with wanting to stop. To my brothers in Christ Michael and Robert: You two are one of the main reasons why I’m still pursuing Jesus and his grace. I thank you for that this app has made me more friends than I ever had in my life 🥹. To my sister in Christ Kathryn: I read your encouraging words to others every day. Also one of the reasons why I have been staying strong. The doubt still remains in me but I know that if I keep pushing the faith will overcome it🤍

Hey Mikayla, I was thinking about this post this morning, when I realized something amazing. Scripture tells us that a few things about how God can use our failings for good. “But as for you, you meant evil against me; but God meant it for good, in order to bring it about as it is this day, to save many people alive.” ‭‭Genesis‬ ‭50‬:‭20‬ ‭ “And we know that all things work together for good to those who love God, to those who are the called according to His purpose.” ‭‭Romans‬ ‭8‬:‭28 I’ve spent over half my life struggling with this addiction and the whole time, I’ve just been waiting on the Lord to somehow bring something, anything good out of it. And as I was thinking about it this morning, I believe that you going to church yesterday because of what my experiences led me to say to you is the first good thing the Lord has brought from my addiction. All the years I’ve struggled, it led me here where something I said helped you get back into the house of God. And I believe that this is just the first of many good things the Lord is going to bring from my addiction. 🙏🏼

There is so much joy to be had on this renewed endeavor! I’m so glad you were able to join the body of Christ today and feel the presence of God as He starts His work like a potter to clay. Let your mind and heart be open to the refinement of the Holy Spirit, you’ll begin to feel the anxieties and worries falling away as God promised (Matthew 6:33-34). I’m so excited to see your journey with God, it makes me smile just thinking about it!

I'm so glad you went to church, and that the sermon was good! I pray that you keep pursuing Christ. Lets get comfortable with the uncomfortable. The Bible doesn't say that our lives will be comfortable, but really the opposite- Logan (no idea why it says You)
