The urges have been strong, but life is more enjoyable; music is more enjoyable, and physical activities are more rewarding. I've come to realize every time I relapse it's because of an overwhelming feeling of loneliness, but one of the most important things that we must understand is that loneliness is the human condition. Filling that void with pointless debauchery and frivolity will not bring us deep fulfillment and joy; only Jesus Christ can sustain us and fulfill us to focus on matters of the spirit rather than matters of the flesh. Colossians 3:2 (NIV): “Set your minds on things above, not on earthly things.” We must pray to the Lord to give us strength and to remind us before we relapse that we are putting our seed on an altar for Satan. This thought alone should wake us up. Remember we are not bound by our fleshly nature and desires; the devil hands us the handcuffs; it's up to us whether we put them on or not. Anytime the urges come, remember to pray quicker than you react; this way, the temptations will not overtake you. And most importantly, don't sacrifice eternity for a moment of pleasure that you will regret, and always remind yourselves that when we sin, we are putting our lord and savior, Jesus Christ, back on the cross. True repentance is turning away from sin and carrying our cross daily as disciples of Christ and denying our fleshly desires. Luke 9:23 (NIV): “Whoever wants to be my disciple must deny themselves and take up their cross daily and follow me.” "Dear brothers, stand firm in faith and take up the sword of the Spirit, which is the Word of God. Charge boldly into the trials of this world, for though the path may be fiery and the battle fierce, the Lord goes before you, and victory is already won in Christ." These are some of my thoughts.
