I’ve been reading a lot of self help books since starting this journey and a personal favorite has been Atomic Habits. I’ve always been a huge fan of religious material and those always brings peace and extra strength, but I thought I’d branch out and found this. What I loved about it, besides the tips for breaking bad habits and establishing good ones, was the idea that the goal shouldn’t be to not engage in a specific behavior but rather to become someone new that naturally doesn’t engage in that behavior. That idea brought a different kind of motivation as my perspective changed. I was focusing on not viewing pornography when I should’ve been focusing on who I wanted to be. What type of person doesn’t view pornography? That may look different for many people but I was able to envision that version of myself and make that my goal. Everyday I become more of that person and it get easier and easier to resist urges. Do you guys have any other recommendations for books that have helped with your journey?

Unwanted by Jay Stringer has been a phenomenal one. Like any knowledge it won’t fix you right away but as you learn how to apply it you will see change.
