Crazy Urges
I had crazy urges all day, used the breathing exercises on this app to subside the urges, but that only works temporarily and they come back worse. How do I get through this rough patch?

Laziness invites sin. Stay moving and away from sources that can tempt you with all your might! You can do this brother we are all rooting for you!!
In the app you can fill out the reasons why you want to stay sober. Keep on adding them throughout the day. I like to note the changes I would like to see in my life. Then when you can feel the urges you can scroll through them and read them one by one. That way you know that if you release the you will be forsaking all the things you’ve got going for yourself. Stay hard. Just like Goggins😂
Thank you brotha I appreciate the response! I’ll try those tactics for sure! Good luck on your journey as well!
And if that doesn’t work, you should always try finding something to do. If your room is dirty, clean it. Chores? Do them. If you have grass that needs to be cut, cut it! Keeping yourself busy distracts you.
What I like to do is I would imagine the feeling I would get after release. And in my case, I always felt like shit. The feeling of guilt, shame, emptiness and all-the-above. Put your brain into timeout, essentially.
I use the app! The panic button! Talk to Melius AI therapy. The library and articles. The Chat. I recognize that I used porn/fap as a coping mechanism for the dopamine release…. I talked to Melius and did some other research and found more ways to get dopamine releases: Exercise, getting out in sunshine, being social (with good people that won’t drag you into bad things), helping others, being creative, fixing things, making things look better (including yourself), getting enough quality sleep, music, meditation, mindfulness, a cup of coffee, a cold shower, standing, reducing inflammation (avoid the 4 worst inflammatories in our diets: sugar, GMO grains, pasteurized dairy, seed oils(vegetable, canola, peanut, corn; instead use olive, avocado, coconut), and otherwise eat a healthy diet (dark chocolate, fresh fruit & veggies are tasty and great and give an immediate dopamine release!) with focus on lots of healthy water and little sugared drinks.
