Hey bro, I’ve been exactly where you are—feeling stuck, ashamed, and desperate for change. You’re not alone, and just by asking for help, you’ve already taken the first step toward freedom. Here are a few things that have helped me: 1. Don’t try to fight it alone – Build a daily system of accountability. I check in after every prayer 5 times to keep myself clean. You can do something similar with on someone you trust. 2. Cut off triggers – Delete and block all apps, websites, or platforms that even slightly tempt you. I deleted instagram and used safesurfer which is a free app that blocks porn from your phone. Replace them with meaningful habits—reading, exercise and prayer. 3. Relapses don’t mean failure – They’re part of the process making you more aware of your triggers. The key is to always get back up immediately and reset with purpose. 4. Visualise the man you want to be – Pure, strong, confident, free from this addiction. See it clearly daily and let that version of you pull you forward. 5. Know your “why” – For me, it’s to protect my faith, focus on my studies, and one day be a clean husband and father. What’s your why? You’re not disgusting—you’re in a battle. And every fight matters. You can win, one clean day at a time.

Make it past the third day after that it gets easier

Quitting porn has been one of the hardest challenges I’ve ever faced. I was exposed to it at just 10 years old, and over time, it severely damaged my perception of women and intimacy. What started as a coping mechanism eventually grew into a sex addiction that led me to make devastating choices—including cheating on my wife with escorts. Through a lot of reflection and support, especially from my wife, I came to understand something important: I often turned to pornography in moments when I was seeking comfort. I’ve now realized that my strongest urges tend to show up when I’m physically or emotionally exhausted. To break that cycle, I’ve started intentionally taking 45 minutes to rest when I feel those urges coming on. That might look like watching TV, closing my eyes, or even taking a short nap. Once my body is recharged, the compulsive thoughts usually fade too. It’s still a journey, but this small act of rest has made a big difference in reclaiming my peace and control.
