The Definition of Relapsing

Since I see so many of you asking if this or that is relapsing, here is a answer to your questions: Relapse: Doing the thing that you're trying not to do. Example: Trying to quit porn. Relapsing would be watching porn again. Half naked girls count, because one thing leads to another, and you may just be seeing half naked girls right now, but that's how you started watching porn to begin with. No naked girls, period No sexual content: jokes, memes, anything that could cause or trigger an urge. It may not be directly watching porn, but porn isn't just the videos and pictures, it's also the things that lead up to it. If you come across something and realize it falls into any of those categories and quickly look away or get away from it, it's not a relapse. I know a lot of you may not be religious, but I think this would help a lot of you to hear: The Bible tells us to flee from sexual immorality (i.e. Porn, any sexual content). Note that it doesn't say "resist". It says FLEE. RUN. Because no matter how strong you think you are, no matter how solid you think your will is, if you are around sexual content enough, you will relapse. Delete social media: This is the biggest place where an urge could generate from. Instagram, Tiktok, X, Reddit, anything where you could possible see or hear half naked girls, get rid of it. If you are serious about quitting, you need to remove anything that could cause you to fail. You don't need social media. And any argument I hear otherwise just tells me you value social media more than overcoming this addiction. Because at the end of the day, that's what this is. Anything that you can't control and controls you is an addiction. Bad Influences: This is something a lot of people don't think about: If all you do is hangout with people who constantly talk about porn and sexual content, eventually you'll cave too. If you are serious about this, you need to associate yourself with likeminded individuals, others who may also be struggling, others who may have advice for you, or people who simply don't talk about the thing your trying to quit. I know this is a lot to read, but I think this would genuinely help a lot of guys out there. I joined this app a few days ago, and I've been clean for months on end now, (I'm aware my streak says 6 days). However, I've learned quite a few things along the way, and I'll gladly help out anyone who needs it. God bless you all in your journey, I'm praying for all of you.
