Motivation is helpful, but it’s just a kicker. Motivation is for the last mile of a marathon. Motivation is for one more rep. Discipline is for the first 25, discipline is for the set. How can you be disciplined? By actually wanting it… really wanting it… desire the good things, and you will hate the bad. It all starts there. Desire fuels discipline and discipline creates motivation when needed to get the job done.
If you’re religious think as if god’s watching you, don’t do it and fear him.
The truth is motivation from others is nice but what you really need is motivation from yourself. What are your reasons for quitting? Focus on those and remind yourself what you have to gain and what you want your life to look like. If you need to hear this: I believe in you! 🤘You got this!!!
You gotta make some real change man. Watch a lot of YouTube/TV? Play a lot of video games? Go on social media a lot? Quit it all. Do something risky and mix it up. All of these things contribute to a mindset of the next distracting thing, the next dopamine hit. Starve yourself of electronic entertainment and live life in the moment. Limit your screen time and get out of your own head and distractions. Biggest thing I have learned in recovery is it doesn’t work unless YOU do. You have to make real behavioral change and stick with it in order to rewire your mind.
