Working from home

How do you guys handle temptation when working from home? Whilst in the office it’s easy enough for obvious reasons, but when working from home, in a room for 9 hours straight it’s a different story. I find this is when I’m most likely to relapse as I can’t just get up and do something I enjoy. How do you guys handle this?

Keep a Bible on the desk! Stay off social media! Social media has been brain rotting me to the point where i leave the door open for the enemy to enter when i should be fully indulging in the word so i can be more like Christ

The coffee shop idea is nice but also we should build the discipline and in general rewire our brain to be able to work from home alone like a normal person without masturbating. The most important thing is understanding your triggers and realizing they’ll pass. Once you know your triggers I feel like it’s so much easier because you start understanding why you feel how you feel. If you’re procrastinating a task the worst thing you can do is take a break to go masturbarte, instead just get started.

Unfortunately due to my type of work it’s not very viable to work from a coffee shop or similar. I do try go into the office when I can, but it’s a fairly long commute and costs a decent amount for the travel (£1000+ a year in total)

Go somewhere public if you can like the library or a coffee shop that way you can get your work done without the easy access of being alone and enjoy a coffee too

Yeah the stress comment is definitely true for me too. When stressed porn is an easy “escape” in the short term. I think with working, sometimes I will have a tedious task to do for an hour or so, and it’s just so hard to get through that without getting that hit a dopamine rush

I have/had the same problem. I started putting more effort into work and looking for productive work things to do in the time where i ran out of tasks. Even if it is reading something work related to expand my knowledge. But most importantly for me, I was masturbating or watching porn when stressed and I realized that was a trigger for me. Once I became aware I started to realize I just need to let it pass and it became easier. But hey I’m only 7 days in. Although this is the longest I’ve ever gone.
