Battle Buddies: Day 4 Post-Relapse
Today was pretty mellow for the most part, had the day off and needed a recoup day so I took it easy. I finally got back into reading my Bible for the first time in a month so that was great! Then I wasn’t so smart and was listening to a podcast about how vile and evil the onlyfans and porn industry is, and then it activated my trigger for some weird reason. It didn’t affect me as much as I would have thought but my whole mental reaction to it just seemed weird as to why it would activate my urges like that. By the grace of God I was able to power through, and the temptation didn’t really come back since my Golden State Warriors decided to break my heart tonight. Anyway enough of the rambling. Men, do NOT listen to anything that covers pornographic content as it may heighten your urges and lead you down a horrible path. To my brother in Christ, Robert: I’m going to join you on your 90 days of no romantic relationships or generally any real deep convo with attractive women. It’s best to let the Lord work to refine and cleanse us from our porn addiction before we go out and pursue. I don’t want to bring pornography, or overall just lust, into a relationship with someone whom the Lord wants me to protect. To Michael: Michael, I love your confidence! Use that God-given joy to radiate the love of Jesus to every woman you meet! Although proceed with caution, and do not look to pursue a serious relationship while you are in the midst of an intense spiritual battle like this one, it could lead to some really nasty stuff. To Jan: Don’t give up hope brother, for you were bought at such a precious price! Seek first the Kingdom, my friend, and the Lord will help you break free from this habitual sin! I want to sign off with this wonderful passage that I read from my Bible study this morning from Psalm 119: “How can a young person stay on the path of purity? By living according to your word. I seek you with all my heart; do not let me stray from your commands. I have hidden your word in my heart that I might not sin against you.” Psalms 119:9-11 NIV Walk in purity my brothers, and may Jesus blanket you all with his grace and serenity tonight.
It’s real how the enemy will work their way into the little things, your guard has to always be up. Let God be your armor, let His word be your weapon. We are here for you, Cameron!!
