Going through it

Just wanna vent here, maybe someone’s going through what I am. I relapsed today and then again like an hour later purely out of boredom, and now I’m here thinking a lot. What triggered it was something on twitter, so I want to now go ahead in life without social media but I don’t know if that’s ridiculous or not because I use it for multiple hours a day, which may be another addiction. What are your thoughts on deleting social media?

I also have the same problem and have too many social media which only increase my options for temptations. I just deleted Twitter yesterday because it was the one that was making me relapse the most. I think its pretty hard to totally delete all social media when we live in this day and age, so I think its fine to start small by deleting the ones that make u the most tempted.

Look through a few of these posts and see some others describing exactly what you did. Social media is designed/calculated/engineered to drive engagement, which they measure by how much time their “users” spend on the app. It can be so toxic. Most all of my recent relapses started with social media. Make your own decision, but for me, if I use social media at all, it has to be locked down, time limited and on a web browser, not the app. Too easy to get caught doom scrolling. Enough soap boxing from me, but give yourself some space from it and see how you feel.
