60hr fast

I decided to start this streak with a complete 60 hr fast from porn, social media and food. The first day or so was pretty easy, but yesterday was very difficult. Especially the food part, I was dying to go get some take away but kept conversing with ChatGPT about the benefits of fasting to keep me motivated and get me through. Not only that, the extreme lack of dopamine had me feeling very down. But even in just 60hrs, I’ve been shown that if you continue to push, the cravings will go away and things will get better. Your brain will do everything it can to send you back into old habits, but if you fight through you will feel significantly better out the other side. And now with the reintroduction of food, I feel amazing. Still refraining from porn of course, and will stay if social media for the rest of the week. My body and mind and thanking me already and I feel I have much more control over myself than just 60hrs ago. Pair fasting or a dopamine detox with this practice, just for a few days. I promise you’ll feel a huge shift!

I do the same after I relapse, water only fast and stay off of social media. Helps me connect with God and just overall starve the flesh and feed the soul. Allows me to make time to do things I need to get back on track, clean the house, laundry, time with God, etc. The temptations will definitely try you but when you push through while fasting you have so much momentum it’s great. I’m a month in right now doing well all things considered, been thinking about a little 2 days fast soon just to get ahead of the game 💪
