Relapse threat due to long-distance relationship

I’m in a LDR (we see each other every month, been together 4 years) so obviously I abstain from sex in 1-month periods since I’m away from my partner. During this time I used to watch porn when I thought about sex with my partner to curb the frustration, but this just seems like an excuse to enable the addiction, which is why I’m here. Anyone have similar experiences to this and any potential ways to work around it? Or just general advice?
