I’m fairly new to the app and have been wondering what are some tips to overcoming this problem.

@Blake yea I will have to give that a try once and see how it works for me. And I also feel that the community is very open and willing to help like you are saying

I’ve tried quitting a few times and this time already seems to be going better. I’ve started meditating for at least 15 minutes a day. Not necessarily all at once but whenever I get really tempted I close my eyes and focus on breathing and repeating positive affirmations. Doing that throughout the day and for at least 5 minutes before bed has really helped me. Also I would never respond or talk to anyone in the other app I downloaded but I’ve started doing it in this app and it seems to help as well

@kaden I appreciate my man. I think staying occupied and busy will definitely help me not even think about the urge at all

Have a mini ego death, start praying twice a day, then force your self to realize they are just urges and they are not a part of you therefore don’t attach yourself to them. Your mind is against you in this journey to quit, you have to see this as an addiction like meth or heroin our minds need it and will manipulate us into feeling good about doing it in the moment, so don’t listen to your mind when you get urges. Meditate as well and just try to keep yourself busy. I’m 15 days free for the first time in a year and my urges have subsided for the most part so about day 7 if you follow this you will see light at the end of the tunnel, just continue to check in on this app daily, you’ve got this, I wish you the best brother!

@nati yes most definitely. I have my reasons why already and now it’s time to put the work in

@santi yea I’ve been trying to get closer with God with this journey because I know the closer I get the easier it will be as well

you’ve got to desire losing porn deep down. do some soul searching, figure out why you keep going back, and put in the work. the fact that you’re here is a great sign! however, its still going to take work on your end.

try distracting yourself and also getting closer with God is another big factor why im doing better at overcoming lust for a second time now
