Fatigue
I don’t know if this is laziness, but at a certain point (usually late at night), I struggle to do anything, I can’t “just do it” like I usually do in the morning Any help? (And if this is laziness please tell directly)

Steph did they ever let the rats not get the dopamine for like 60 days to see how long it would take for the rat to realize it never needed it
Now it could simply be laziness or lack of movement but porn can really screw you over. If you can go 60-90 days porn free you can reset this dopamine response I know it’s hard I’m only on day 10😂 but on a scientific level this should reset your dopamine response levels.
In the 1950s, researchers James Olds and Peter Milner discovered that rats would repeatedly press a lever to stimulate a part of their brain linked to pleasure and reward (the dopamine system). The rats became so fixated on the stimulation that they ignored food, water, and sleep—some even to the point of death. This showed how powerful dopamine-driven behavior can be, overriding even basic survival needs. This experiment is often used to explain how modern addictions—like porn—affect the human brain. Just like the rats, people can become hooked on the intense dopamine release, leading to compulsive behavior. Over time, this can dull motivation for normal, everyday tasks, creating cycles of fatigue, laziness, and dependence on artificial stimulation for pleasure.
Porn addiction causes laziness and fatigue by disrupting the brain’s natural balance of motivation, energy, and focus. Here’s how: 1. Dopamine Overload: Porn triggers intense dopamine spikes. Over time, this causes the brain to become less sensitive to dopamine, making everyday tasks feel dull and unmotivating. 2. Energy Drain: Frequent ejaculation, especially from compulsive use, leads to physical and mental fatigue. Post-orgasm, the body enters a low-energy recovery state, which can become chronic if it happens too often. 3. Reduced Motivation: The brain starts prioritizing the quick, easy reward of porn over real-life goals, leading to procrastination and apathy. 4. Poor Sleep: Late-night porn use disrupts sleep patterns, causing daytime tiredness and lack of focus. 5. Emotional Impact: Feelings of guilt, shame, or anxiety from overuse can weigh heavily, contributing to mental exhaustion and avoidance behavior.
Maybe you’re just tired 🤷
@St8ck1n Not in the James olds and Peter Milner study they only focused on the dopamine response without observing the after effect. However there have been several studies after this 1950s study like the Robinson & Berridge 1990’s-ish I can’t remember the exact date. Anyway they found that when the dopamine source was removed, rats experienced withdrawal symptoms such as low motivation and lethargy. Over time, typically within days to weeks, their behavior and brain chemistry began to normalize, with the rats gradually returning to normal activities like eating and exploring. Full recovery usually depends on how long and intensely the brain was overstimulated. But they found in most cases, rats regain their normal function within a few weeks up to 90 days, though some brain changes might persist longer after heavy or prolonged exposure.
