Keep busy

As in quitting any addiction it’s important to stay busy . This especially helps to keep your mind busy and focused on other topics or actions . To those like myself who are non religious (which seems to be very few here) during this process I highly recommend reading Meditations by Marcus Aurelius and diving into stoicism , it may help humble and ground yourself as it did for me . Here’s a quote I’d love to share that relates to our journey. “Erase the print of imagination, stop impulse , quench desire: keep your directing mind its own master “
As a fellow atheist I completely second Marcus Aurelius’ works, they’re very relatable and a great framework for developing mastery. Another book I really liked which seems to unintentionally be from a modern vein of stoicism is Catherine Gray’s “the Unexpected Joy of the Ordinary”. Really helped me get back to grips with the beauty of normal life.
