Battle Buddies: Day 27
I listened to a sermon today from Doug Wilson that talked about what was taking our joy away as followers of Christ. This sermon opened my eyes to the sin that I was making excuses for in my life. One of the verses he spoke of was “He who covers his sins will not prosper, But whoever confesses and forsakes them will have mercy.” Proverbs 28:13 NKJV. This drove me to want to expose any wickedness within me. Take captive of every thought, truly living a life that honors Christ even if it is humbling. My pride is my largest obstacle, Father help be to be rid of this impurity. I accept responsibility for whatever may come next. Lord you are so good and provide for us our needs. Seek out my heart, Father, and discern my wants from my needs. Brothers in Christ Michael, Cameron, and Jan: We labor not in vain for when this battle has come to pass it will all be for the kingdom above. It will, I hope, help others shed this sin from their lives as well. There is a phrase in ministry “things are caught not taught” and I hope that others will see the good work that God has done within us and be inspired themselves. Stay strong in the faith, brothers.
