do i have to be religious?

I can only speak for myself and from my experience, it helped me. Jesus not only saved my soul, but he saved me out of many things. And even now I have hope that I will overcome this problem. And If I wrote everything God helped me out of, I would probably run out of characters. Anyways man, keep going you’re on the right track.

@matt I get it man, church you don’t know if you’re going to the right and also don’t know anyone so that can be something that can make you anxious. I finally found a church I love. But it’s not about church or rituals. It’s more than that. My suggestion is to Read the Gospel of John and Romans in the Bible for yourself. More importantly than Church It’s about Jesus and knowing that after this life you’ll be in heaven. The only thing most if not all Christians want is for everyone to go to heaven that includes you Matt. And even though as strange as it may sounds because we don’t know you, we love ya and want to you to be thriving, to have hope and a purpose. God loves you too. Even if you can’t see it now. But ultimately this is choice you have to make. Is it ok if I pray for you?

@D my bad man, personally i can see myself possibly having some beliefs, i catch myself praying that ill be able to stop but mainly thats about it, im not a big church person at all, but i can see having beliefs you know what i mean?

@matt he was probably talking about the comment above his. For me, having a relationship with God really helps me see my purpose for life and shows me that I’m better than staying in my room for hours on end looking at disgusting images on a screen. I had an 8 month streak 2 years ago and haven’t beat it since. I’m 46 almost 47 days clean now. I noticed that having a relationship with Jesus formed me into a better person than I thought that I was. Though at the end of the day it’s always your decision on whether you wanna know Jesus or not :) it’s recommended but everyone can follow their own path .

There's no need for religion. I'm a staunch atheist and am not doing this for the approval of an imaginary malign being that created me with this flaw. Fix yourself for yourself

It’s not about being religious brother. It’s about having a relationship with God. He created us with the intent to need him. To rely on him and to seek him. If we don’t do that we will do that with other things. In this case we lust have not only porn but ejaculation. Until we fully surrender to him with everything we have i don’t believe it’s going to be possible to not get over this: this is sin and sin leads to death. It’s only by Gods grace why he have another day to repent and turn away from wickedness. This was given to us as Jesus Christ was crucified on the cross and rose again 3 days later. An atonement for our sins. Something we deserve to have done to us Jesus took that burden so that we can be saved! It’s an amazing thing and is good news. Matt i will keep you in prayer my brother that the Lord opens your eyes and ears to see and hear the truth so you can live with our creator for eternity
