Battle Buddies: Day 18
So today I went to a church event where we sing hymns inside of our capitol building. There was a gal that I kept making eye contact with. What I mean by kept…. is more than 3 times. Normally I would go up to such a gal and introduce myself, however I have also taken this time (90 days) and vowed to keep it void of female distractions. Praise the Lord for giving me strength and having people there that would hold me accountable. I am in complete awe because my normal self would’ve just taken over in this instance but with God He made it very clear what was right and wrong in this case. I kept feeling the urge to flee once the event was over. Not in cowardice but out of wanting to stay true to that vow and evade any potential stumbling blocks. All glory to God for coming through every day! Brothers in Christ, Michael & Jan: Isn’t our Father so good? He picked us up out of the muck and filth, cleansed us off, nurtured us, made a sacrifice for us, and treats us as His children. He is a just God whom only wants our genuine hearts to be set on Him. He is all sufficient, not needing anything. Sovereign over all things, and He chose to have a relationship with us. Isn’t that wonderful!? I pray you two have had a blessed day and that the Lord pours out His strength into your hearts!
Very well said, Cameron! It’s also comforting to know that we are not alone and that we have similar experiences. A common goal, a common bond, and a true connection! God’s wisdom will guide us, all we need is ask. The thought of a wife is pleasing, but the thought of picking the wrong one is terrifying. The Bible says it would be better to live in a desert by yourself than have a vexing woman. Don’t settle for anything less than God’s best and I’m confident He will bless you with a wonderful woman when the timing is right.
