Battle Buddies: Day 20

Day 20

Tomorrow is 3 weeks! That’s crazy to think about. 3 weeks ago I was a slave to sin and today I feel like a bond servant for Christ. His work in us is the only reason we’ve made it this far, brothers. We are rounding the corner of 30 days, it’s rapidly approaching. I reflect back thinking how I used to try and quit on my own, I’d make it about a week at best. I’d often think that I had given it over to God and would become frustrated when I’d fall back into temptation. I now realize that I truly did not have a genuine heart of faith at the time, God has opened my eyes to what our faith is truly capable of when we have a sincere heart that desires to be God honoring. Not only that but God placed other fellow believers in this app alongside me as we trudge through this battle. God comes through when you surrender all. Not only that, but also He restores you and shows you the pure liberties of being set free of your sin. I am eternally grateful for God and you wonderful brothers in Christ here. I think about you guys all the time, you truly are a blessing from God! Battle Buddies Michael, Jan, and Cameron: I’m praying for you guys, there truly is a light at the end of the tunnel and I hope you know that it is a lot nearer than you think. There will be a day where it all starts to come together. Don’t forget to celebrate the little victories and give glory to God for them! This life is not our own, there is nothing good we can do without Him by our side. Give thanks in everything, brothers! May God be the light to your path through these troubles, may He mold your hearts and minds like clay for His kingdom.

I’m so glad to hear that the battle isn’t over! The enemy always wants us to think that we have lost and cause us to fall into despair. You still have my full support and I know you will overcome this. God sees you as if you had no blemish as long as you sincerely ask for his forgiveness and turn away from sin. He has placed getting rid of this addiction on your heart because He loves you and is preparing you for something greater. I love the verse you shared, it’s often an incredibly convicting verse because it calls us to do away with the things that cause us to falter in the faith. You can also imagine that cutting off your hand is extremely painful, at times getting rid of the sin in our lives can hurt just as bad. I’m praying for you, brother!

Thank you for your motivational words, Robert. I unfortunately relapsed today as I was deleting all my accounts related to sexual content. On the other hand I feel at peace despite the relapse because now I know that those accounts no longer exist, and that I can focus on better things without those sites clouding my mind with darkness. It’s all about cutting off the things that cause you to sin just as Jesus said in the gospel of Matthew: “And if your right hand causes you to stumble, cut it off and throw it away. It is better for you to lose one part of your body than for your whole body to go into hell.” ‭‭Matthew‬ ‭5‬:‭30‬ ‭NIV‬‬
