I can’t believe I made it this far and it wasn’t because of my strength. It was all because of God giving me his the strength to overcome these temptations and stay disciplined. Pornography and masturbation used to be one of the biggest addictions I ever struggled with and I thought I couldn’t get rid of them. I thought that it was impossible for me to ever be free from these shackles until I met someone name Jesus Christ. I don’t know how much of you guys know him but I really think you should read the gospels which are Matthew, Mark Luke and, John to see for yourselves and believe that he died for all your sins including with the ones we are struggling with right now. I used to try and do everything in my own strength and would fail. I would try to do the NNN challenge and fail miserably, I would try to fight against lust instead of fleeing from it which is what Jesus tells us to do. And I happened to come across this Bible verse which had brought a lot of clarity to me when I was going through a really bad time of struggling with addictions. “We know that our old sinful selves were crucified with Christ so that sin might lose its power in our lives. We are no longer slaves to sin. For when we died with Christ we were set free from the power of sin. And since we died with Christ, we know we will also live with him. We are sure of this because Christ was raised from the dead, and he will never die again. Death no longer has any power over him. When he died, he died once to break the power of sin. But now that he lives, he lives for the glory of God. So you also should consider yourselves to be dead to the power of sin and alive to God through Christ Jesus.” ‭‭Romans‬ ‭6‬:‭6‬-‭11‬ ‭NLT‬‬ https://bible.com/bible/116/rom.6.6-11.NLT And I know most of you would have heard about John 3:16-17, “For this is how God loved the world: He gave his one and only Son, so that everyone who believes in him will not perish but have eternal life. God sent his Son into the world not to judge the world, but to save the world through him.” God knew that we would fall short with all these sins and would never be able to overcome them with our own strength and that’s why he sent Jesus Christ to be the sacrifice for all our sins no matter who you are or what you’re struggling with. You’re never too far away from God to come back now. There’s no addiction or sin that Jesus didn’t die for so that you wouldn’t be saved. God is basically saying, come to him, have faith in him, trust him and see how he would lift these weights of sin and sorrow off your shoulders. Have faith and trust him and see if he wouldn’t give you true peace, love, strength, and purpose. Don’t do it with your own strength and understanding. That’s what the world teaches us to do. But the one who created the World and created us says, trust me, don’t trust yourselves. Our human nature is too flawed. It’s inevitable sin. But God says, come to me and I’ll forgive your sins no matter what they are and I’ll give you rest. I hope this helps someone who is really going through it and thinking of giving up. And that you begin your walk with God to experience the true meaning of life and your purpose here on earth. God bless🙏🏽❤️
