Still having lustful thoughts

Day 14

I’m on a 14 day streak and I’m feeling good. However, I still am fantasizing constantly about porn and am looking even more lustfully at women to make up for the lack of porn. Do the thoughts get healthier eventually? Is there anything that has worked for you that lessens these thoughts?

Brothers, think about it—we’ve viewed women lustfully for so long that it’s started to feel like the default, natural response toward them. But that’s not how it’s meant to be. We need to understand that this mindset can be changed. When we shift the paradigm and renew our minds, that default response will begin to fade. With time, purity, and discipline, we can learn to see women the way God intended—with respect, honor, and love. We will change the default—what was once a negative response will become a positive one, rooted in godly perspective.🤜🤛✝️🙏

In 1 Timothy chapter 5, Paul tells Timothy to treat older women as mothers and younger women as sisters, with absolute purity. This really helped shift my perspective—because I wouldn’t want anyone to hurt my sister or mother or have inappropriate thoughts about them, I know I shouldn’t treat or think of other women that way either. As men, we often fall into the trap of blaming women for how they dress, as if they’re the reason we struggle with temptation. But the truth is, it has nothing to do with them. It’s on us to take responsibility for our own hearts and minds. When we begin to see women the way God calls us to—with honor and purity—we stop objectifying them and instead start praying blessings and love over them. That’s the mindset Christ wants for us. Just some thoughts I wanted to share—hope they help, brother. Stay strong.❤️✝️🙏

I am feeling the same way Jacob. I feel like this is part of the hump that we just gotta force ourselves through. It’s like the beginning you feel strong for starting then a couple weeks in you falter. I just keep telling myself, “it’ll get harder before it gets easier” “it will be worth it” “if I relapse now, then I’m back to square one, how will I know it gets better if I don’t push through?”

Jacob I have the same issue but my method is just finding time to connect with nature! Go on a hike or some fishing by yourself and nature and just calm your mind! That helps me atleast get rid of the fantasizing thoughts

Look at the women as someone else daughter, or even more importantly, a child of God. Read your Bible and know that we are all made in the image of God and we are his temple, therefore, we should honor ourselves and others as equally valuable.
