Day 10

Anyone else who is 1 week + experiencing any increased irritability. Not only porn, but I recently quit alcohol and nicotine literally on the same day. Poured out my liquor, threw away my pouches, and decided to quit porn in the same day. Anything that can take on some form of addiction, I feel I needed to quit. It could be just be from quitting the alcohol, which is what I probably had the most issue with, out of the three. It could be from quitting multiple things at once. I wasn’t addicted to alcohol to the point like someone who could experience severe withdrawal symptoms. But I drank enough to where it seemed like I couldn’t go longer than 3-4 days without it. And when I drank I definitely would have 4-6 drinks in one day. With all that said, I have been like extremely irritable at random points in the day regarding some mundane tasks. I know this is likely normal, but can anyone provide any insight as to when I can expect this to subside a little?

Generally it takes your body two weeks to adapt to changes like that. You’ll start feeling better roughly in that time. Take that energy and burn it out elsewhere, gym, walks, runs, etc. Your body has gotten to use to one habit(s)for so long, and all that instant dopamine has burned your receptors, that it will take some time to adjust.

Also quit porn and nicotine at the same time, a few days ago I was having serious mood swings as well, I think it was something to do with hormones balancing out. The past couple days has been the complete opposite though, I feel more calm and focused then ever. I think it’s something that you just have to troop through for a bit, remember why you quit, it probably takes a bit of time but things are bound to get better.
