He’s good at forgiving🤍⛓️💥
If you’re like me, you carry a lot of shame over your past sins. Shame is good for correcting your behavior and getting back into line, but once you’ve brought your sins to the cross, repented, and sought God- that shame is no longer helpful, and can be used as a tool of Satan. I’ve often thought in the moments before sinning “why even bother, my list of sins is thiiiiiiis long, this won’t make a difference”- But remember friends, we serve a God who is *merciful* and is eager to forgive, and wants us to seek Him. Here’s 2 of my favorite verses for this: “If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness“. 1 John 1:19. “Let us then with confidence, draw near to the the throne of grace, that we may receive mercy and find the grace to help in time of need“. Hebrews 4:16. Don’t let the shame of already forgiven sins lead you to more sin. God has forgiven you, you are free. 🤍⛓️💥 Ps. Thank you Robert for your post last night- I find your messages to be particularly encouraging and helpful, and I’m praying for you. :)
That’s a very good verse for this topic- gonna write that one down!
