🫡 HOW I STOPPED | VERY IMPORTANT
I am alone in my room most of the time with my mobile phone and laptop. I had been watching porn daily since I was 12. After a big struggle with watching porn and fapping, I now feel super great that I am born again! I’ve taken some steps to try to fix this problem, and they’re working very well, alhamdulillah! 1 Faith in God was a very strong motivation. 2 Fasting (in the Islamic way) was extremely helpful. When I start eating again, I only eat what my body needs—not until I have a full, fat belly! Only eat what your body needs to eat. This will help you control other cravings too. It becomes easier to manage them. The worst thing for controlling the urge is having a full stomach. 3 Learn more about dopamine and neuroscience. Understanding how it works helps me distract the urge with other activities. One of the most effective things is having a hard workout session—all my urges go down. Listening to motivational speeches also helps because it gives me good dopamine and raises my adrenaline. 4 Change the way you live completely. Sometimes the place you live in is connected in your brain to bad habits, triggering you to repeat them because they give you a lot of dopamine. If you can change the room you live in, please do so. If you can’t, then rearrange everything—change the places of all your items. If you sleep on the bed, try sleeping on the floor, or even move the bed if you can. Change your entire room so it feels like it’s not your room anymore! 5 Change your daily routine completely. Try new things and visit new places until there aren’t many similarities with how your old days were. This helps me remove any triggers that push me to do it. 6 Try not to touch it. 7 Stop watching movies or TV shows. Endless scrolling is no less harmful than watching porn—it’s also addictive, so it’s time to end it. 8 Do charity, be a better person, and stay productive. Trying to make people happy gives me a high dopamine boost, which is why it has helped a lot. 9 I added a full internet porn blocker, especially for my phone. 10 I’m not running away or hiding from the idea of being addicted to porn, nor am I trying to stop being alone. Hiding or escaping doesn’t fix anything—otherwise, you’ll relapse when you’re alone again. You must face it and stop it completely. 11 When you relapse, grab a pen and paper and start writing how you feel, what triggered you, and everything on your mind. This will help you learn, become stronger, and never forget the reasons that made you relapse so you don’t fall into them again! If you try this guide, I guarantee you’ll stop completely, no matter how addicted you are, inshallah. Good luck to all!
